Chris Bosh's Most Underrated Season of his Career – CrownHoops

maximios June 10, 2023 Sport

On this continuing series of “most underrated season,” we take a look at the underrated Toronto Raptors legend, Chris Bosh. While Chris Bosh was certainly not the best player in the Miami Heat‘s infamous “big three,” he is still a future Hall of Famer for a reason. However, many forget how dominant the power forward was during his prime years. However, which season of his seems to get overlooked the most? Without further adieu, let’s delve into what the most underrated season of Chris Bosh’s career was and how dominant he was during that time.

Chris Bosh: His Most Underrated Season

Chris Bosh: His Last Season in Toronto

Bosh really played like he needed a new contract in his last season with the Toronto Raptors. During that season, he showed his worth as a legitimate number one option and a player teams could use to build towards an NBA Championship. This was the last time we saw the great Chris Bosh be the clear-cut number one option on his respective team while in his prime. Man, was it a joy to behold.

The Raptors would not see the postseason that particular year. However, that was hardly Bosh’s fault. This fact had more to do with the inability to build around Chris Bosh. At the time, it was rather frustrating for Toronto as they did not possess a title at the time, (though it the wounds have certainly healed after last year’s Finals run). Regardless, Chris Bosh will always be considered one of the best Toronto Raptors players in team history.

CB4’s 2009-10 Numbers

During the 2009-10 campaign, Bosh would average a career-high 24 points per game. On top of that, he also tallied another career-high as he pulled down 10.8 total rebounds per game. Not to mention, he averaged one block per game exactly. We have not even gotten into Bosh’s advanced numbers as of yet.

Bosh’s numbers in the advanced categories during the 2009-10 season were also impressive. He would finish with a total rebounding percentage of 17.7 percent. Not to mention, his true shooting percentage was solid as he finished with a total of 59.2 percent in this category. To make matters better, his player efficiency rating during this season was a total of 25. The Raptors were truly blessed with the likes of Chris Bosh and it is a shame he is so underrated to this day.
