Milwaukee Bucks: The Best Constructed Roster in the League –

maximios December 9, 2023 Sport

The Milwaukee Bucks are having another fantastic season. They are back in the top ranks of the league again. We know the two stars of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton helps matters a lot. However, what goes unnoticed is how well rounded the whole roster is and how they fit with Antetokoumpo and Middleton. With this in mind, let’s take a look at why the Bucks have the best-constructed roster in the entire NBA.

Milwaukee Bucks: The Supporting Cast

The Bucks have players who know their roles and play them very well. Brook Lopez has found his niche in Milwaukee after stints in Brooklyn and Los Angeles. His brother, Robin Lopez, has also provided some much-needed grit for the second unit this season. Also, we have to give the veteran, George Hill, his due credit. He has provided some valuable experience for the young players this year, tallying 9.9 points per game, along with an insanely high effective field goal percentage of 66.1.

On top of all these quality role players, we cannot leave out the sharp-shooter, Kyle Korver. Korver has always played his role well and it’s been no different as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks. He is there for shooting and defense. This season, Korver is striking from three-point land at a rate of 41.1% and possesses a defensive rating of 105. This has helped the Bucks climb into the top 20 in team three-point percentage, making them the first-place ranked team in terms of team defensive rating.

Milwaukee Bucks: The Stars

This is going to be surprising, but the Bucks actually have a trio of stars. Eric Bledsoe is actually an ideal third star for them. Bledsoe may have struggled in the postseason last year, but the intangibles he brings to the table are too valuable to overlook. He made an All-Defensive Team last season and is having another solid season this year. Then, of course, we have the underrated Middleton. Middleton is coming off his first All-Star season and is serving his role well as the side-kick to the reigning MVP. Middleton is averaging 19.3 points per game to go along with a three-point shooting percentage of 40.4% and an offensive rating of 117.

Then, we have to talk about the Greek Freak. He is the reigning MVP for a reason and is making a strong case for the award again this season. So far, he is putting up 30 points per game, 12.7 rebounds per game, 5.5 assists per game and a career-high three-point percentage of 33.2%. On top of this, Antetokounmpo is averaging a career-low defensive rating of 96 and a player efficiency rating of 33.4. Not to mention, he has his team firmly in the top three in the Eastern Conference for the second season in a row.

Conclusion

The Bucks are considered contenders again this season and for good reason. Much of this has to do with how well the roster is set up and how well they are coached. Mike Budenholzer is a former Coach of the Year and knows how to get the most out of his players. Remember, this is the same coach who coached the Atlanta Hawks, who ended up having five different All-Stars. You combine all of these factors, then you get a solid recipe for success. So far, the recipe has worked out well for the Bucks.
