NBA Games to Watch: February 9-15, 2020 – CrownHoops
On February 10, we get a key NBA matchup in the Eastern Conference. The Brooklyn Nets travel to Indiana to take on the Pacers. The Nets will see a Pacers team that has silently been one of the best teams in the league. The Pacers now boast a pair of All-Stars with Domantas Sabonis making his first All-Star Game this season. He has become a solid option to pair with the two-time All-Star in Victor Oladipo who has returned from injury. However, the Nets have their fair share of talent as well.
Not only do the Nets have some solid role players such as Joe Harris and Caris LeVert, but they also have another dynamic duo in Kyrie Irving and Spencer Dinwiddie. Some argue that Dinwiddie should have been an All-Star. However, he is still having a career season regardless of his alleged snub. With these two opposing star duos going head-to-head, this game shapes up to be one of the most interesting non-nationally televised games this week.
NBA Game to Watch #2: Toronto Raptors at Brooklyn Nets
We see the Nets in another key Eastern Conference game on February 12. In a potential playoff matchup, the Nets will battle the red-hot Toronto Raptors, who have won 14 straight games as of February 9. As every avid NBA fan knows, the Raptors are the defending champions and are still looking formidable despite losing Kawhi Leonard in NBA free agency. The Raptors still boast a very talented lineup.
Kyle Lowry is on his way to his sixth All-Star Game. Fred VanVleet is arguably the best backup point guard in the league. Of course, Pascal Siakam is thriving as the new first option of the Raptors. Siakam is on his way to his first All-Star Game while he is tallying numbers of 23.4 points per game, 7.4 total rebounds per game, and an effective field goal percentage of 50.8%. The Nets are going to have another extremely tough matchup after being tested against the Indiana Pacers.
Game #3: San Antonio Spurs at Oklahoma City Thunder
On February 11, we get an intriguing matchup out West. The San Antonio Spurs may not be in the postseason picture right now, but they are scrapping trying to get the final spot in the West, while the Grizzlies and Trail Blazers are fighting for positioning as well. However, the Thunder are firmly in the sixth spot in the West as of February 9 and have been one of the biggest surprises of the season. Led by the dynamic backcourt trio of Chris Paul, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Dennis Schroder, the Thunder are going to give the Spurs a challenge.
However, DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge are seasoned veteran stars – stars who can lead a team to a key win when needed. They are not having the type of success they had last season. However, the star pair is still putting up nice numbers. DeRozan is tallying 23 points per game while shooting 53.4% from the field. Aldridge is putting up 18.7 points per game while grabbing 7.5 total rebounds per game. With all of this in mind, this game is another key, non-televised NBA game to watch this week.
