Predicting the NBA All-Decade First Team: 2020s – CrownHoops

maximios November 28, 2023 Sport

Despite being in the Orlando Bubble, the young stars in the NBA are shining brightly. Players like Devin Booker, Jayson Tatum, and Brandon Ingram among others had highlight moments and monster games. Towards the end of 2019, the NBA released their all-decade teams. With the league’s young stars poised to take over, who will shine brightest over the next ten years? Who will be a part of the next NBA All-Decade Teams?

Trae Young – Guard

In just two years, Trae Young has proven to be one of the most skilled and exciting point guards in the NBA. His game is reminiscent of two-time MVP Stephen Curry. Young’s game fits in with the current playing style. He knocks down deep threes and is creative with his dribbling. Young has shown significant improvements in his second season in the NBA and looks to lead an Atlanta Hawks team that is loaded with potential.

Devin Booker – Guard

Booker is one of the better shooting guards in the NBA. He not only can shoot, but he has improved greatly at passing and defence. Booker’s main issue has been the ineptitude of the Phoenix Sun’s organization, thus affecting his chances at a playoff push. It seems the Suns could be on the rise soon. Booker could take that chance to finally prove himself to be truly elite.

Luka Doncic – Forward

At just 21 years old, Luka Doncic is one of the most all-around gifted players in the NBA. He currently averages 29.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game. In just his second season in the league, Doncic is flirting with a triple-double average. He was also a viable MVP candidate. Doncic looks to lead the Mavericks for a long time and bring them back to their playoff days.

Giannis Antetokounmpo – Forward

Giannis Antetokounmpo made the all-decade third-team for the 2010s. This time around, he is a shoo-in for the first team. He is already a top-five player in the NBA. He might win his second straight MVP award this year. The Bucks are at the top of the East and are expected to compete in the NBA Finals. Giannis will continue to be dominant. The only question for him is if he can get it done in the playoffs and win a ring.

Joel Embiid – Center

Despite being older than everyone else on this list, Joel Embiid is in his prime. He is arguably the best center in the NBA right now. He has averaged a double-double for the last three years and has been a staple in the 76ers’ progress. The only question for Embiid is health. When healthy and motivated, Embiid can play at an MVP level.
